SEO Bullshit, How to recognize Good and Bad SEO companies
May
1) They tell you they garantee ranking number 1.
a. That’s a lie, the search engine decides, not him/her. So why is he/she saying that? Because they think they have “good chances” to succed, and beside you’ll have to pay way before you can check the results, so they have no risk. You pay, and if they don’t succed, then you paid for a little while at least.
b. It’s dangerous, because they won’t go for the competitive (and lucrative) keywords. They will go for the ones where they actually can rank you FIRST, and guarantee it. But that’s not what you wanted. You don’t want to be number one on a query no one types…
2) They tell you they can do it for 25$ a month.
a. Ok this one is easy. You want to have results, and you know it takes time. How many hours de you expect them to work on your website for this price? Obviously they won’t even spend one day a week, cause then they would loose money, not earn money.
b. Very often, all you get for this price is actually the automated inclusion in a 100 hundred search engines you don’t care about because no one uses them. What you need is high rankings in search engines that are actually used.
3) They tell you if we make the website, the SEO is for free
That’s one of my favorites. It just means that they won’t do the SEO, but at least they sold you the website! And this one actually works, I lost contracts to competitors who were saying free SEO for one year! They made the website, they were paid for it, and they searched for new clients who needed a website. The former one… lost one year of SEO efforts.
4) They tell you we will do the SEO, but actually only tell you what YOU have to do
Ok. Two possibilities. You knew it from the very beginning and you decided that’s all you needed, an seo audit, and you know you can make the changes. Or they lied to you. And then they will tell you your website has crappy rankings because … you didn’t do what they asked you to.
5) Ask them for examples of websites they ranked.
And not only for one expression, of course. You don’t want to rank on one expression, you want real traffic don’t you?
Learn How to Choose an SEO Company
Mar
This is a piece of advice about which seo companies you should fear, part of How to Chose an SEO company?
Fear companies who tells you you can be inside 15421254 directories in one second. First, it's a lie, and then this would hurt your ranking. Google is not stupid!
Escape from those who want to throw 154215445 times the same word in your 20 pages website. Google, baidu, yahoo, all use statistics to check that you are not over using a word.
Hide from those who promise you to be first on hotel, after 1 week (because they are lying). There are very competitive keywords, and their for you have to use a strategy, not pay voodoo master.
Do not follow those who will promise you 1000 relevant backlink in a night (they use spamming robots). They attack for example blogs without captcha. Again, search engines are not stupid (and the engineers who design them as well).
Be careful of those you pay according to the traffic growth (because they can buy ads who will disapear as soon as you stop paying them, with the traffic they were bringing)
Don't copy, google knows it better than you're teachers used too (and if your teachers were good at finding out, imagine what google can do)
to sum up, "don't be evil", bring valuable information, optimize your website so that you put the right words at the right place. always think as a user. if "i type your page title, and i find it, will it be valuable information for me") search engine optimization is not about tricking, it's about serving...serve your readers and serve search engines, they will serve you
