Can Google Make As Much Money in Hong Kong as in China?
Mar
Can google have the same traffic in hong kong than in china?
It seems so. When you check alexa traffic, it seems that all of the visitors google had in china followed mountain view search engine to its new hong kong location.
Chinese Like Google
Surprising? a bit i would say, i would have thaught that they would lose 10% to 30% of their visitors, because there are few more clicks to reach the actual hong kong Chinese home page.
So, if google has the same number of visitors... it might earn just as much money as it did before leaving china
I am really curious to see if that is just because they just moved there, or if it's a true passion from the chinese folks to Guge (chinese name of google).
Search Engines Fight For Market Share
If they don't lose market share, they should yell it loud and clear, because if advertisers don't know about it, they might reduce their advertising on google thinking that now, to reach the chinese market, they can only go through baidu.
So, there are two battles to win here for them : to keep their market share... AND to let it be known.
